Getting Mechcommander to run

Step 1: Download the No-CD ISO​

Step 2: Enable Legacy DirectPlay​

Ensure Windows has DirectPlay turned on so the legacy files can launch properly:

1. Open the Windows Start Menu, type "Turn Windows features on or off", and press Enter.
2. Scroll down to Legacy Components.
3. Check the box for DirectPlay and click OK.

Step 3: Adjust Compatibility Settings​

Before launching the game, navigate to your game folder and locate your MechCommander executable (.exe) file.
Right-click the executable, select Properties, and navigate to the Compatibility tab:

1. Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows XP (Service Pack 2) or Windows 98 / Windows ME.
2. Check "Disable full-screen optimizations".
3. (Optional) Check "Reduced color mode" (16-bit) if you encounter severe color distortion.

How to Play Online With Us​

After you have completed the steps above, you are ready to jump into multiplayer!

1. Go to https://www.gameranger.com and create a free account.
2. Download and open GameRanger, go to options, and path the game executable so it can detect your client.
3. Look for our rooms to join us commander!

I have compatability setting set, yet I still get the message 'Insert Disk'. Not sure how to proceed with getting it to run

How do you mount it? Because it's asking for an image and every time I try to find an image, there's none in the download file. A full tutorial on how to mount would be nice.

Right click on the ISO file, and select "MOUNT". Should show up as a "dvd" under the "This PC" tab. Then click on the resolution you want to use
